how to draw a pointe shoe

A pointe shoe is a woman's ballet slipper with a thin flexible split sole attached to a thick, stiff cardboard-like sole.

The split sole is the part of the shoe that makes it possible to bend and stretch while performing controlled movements on pointe.

It was invented in 1878 by French company Kork-Ease, who made them out of silk and cotton. They were initially worn only by male dancers but soon became popular with female dancers as well.

Pointe shoes can be made out of any material so long as they are soft enough to perform in,

although most ballet companies still make their women's shoes out of leather or suede due to its flexibility when bending on one or both feet.

Once the shoe is on its feet it can either be held in place by a leather strap that comes around the back of the ankle. Some pointe dancers have their shoes tied by an elastic band, which then tightens against the heel at first use in order to hold it on.

Others prefer to wear their shoes without straps or bands, focusing instead on adjusting the position of their feet when moving across the stage.
